How quickly can X-Road be implemented?

Implementing a fully functional X-Road testing environment can be done in a day when done in a guided workshop. Of course, it covers only installing and configuring the central components of the X-Road software so that the environment can be used for testing. Implementing a production level environment including all related rules, policies, processes, etc., takes typically 3-6 months.
The amount of time required to implement X-Road also depends on whether you are going to use commercial trust services (Certificate Authority, Time-stamping Authority) or implement your own trust services. Using available commercial services is a faster alternative.
In addition, time is of course needed for processes related to drafting new or changing the existing legislation as required.
