Prioritization changes to X-Road backlog

Change 1

In February, the Working Group decided to replace Akka with gRPC in version 7.4.0 (Q4 / 2023). Originally, replacing Akka with another technology was scheduled for 2025. Since replacing Akka was moved from 2025 to 2023, it means that some of the roadmap item(s) originally scheduled for this year must be postponed.

In March, the Working Group approved the following changes to the X-Road backlog:

  • Replace Akka with another technology (gRPC): 2025 → 2023

  • Redesign signer to improve performance (XRDDEV-57): 2023 → 2025

Change 2

Support for automated certificate management through ACME was orginally scheduled for 2024.

In March, the Working Group approved the following changes to the X-Road backlog:

  • Support for automated certificate management through ACME (XRDDEV-1520): 2024 → 2023

  • Automatic configuration of Security Server IP ACL (XRDDEV-823): 2023 → 2024
